What does Avèro Advisors do?
Avèro Advisors is an independent government technology advisory firm. We help cities, counties, utilities, airports, transit agencies, and special districts set technology and AI strategy, then carry out whatever that strategy calls for: replacing an ERP system, modernizing the one they already own, or governing an implementation that is already underway. We do not sell, resell, or implement software. Our only revenue is the agency's fee.
What does vendor-neutral actually mean?
It means Avèro holds no software contracts, takes no referral fees, and carries no reseller relationships with Tyler, Workday, SAP, Oracle, Infor, or any other vendor a public agency might evaluate. Most firms advising on government technology are paid, in some way, by the companies competing for the work. We are paid only by the agency, so our recommendation costs the same whichever direction the findings point.
Do we have to replace our ERP system?
Often, no. Replacement is one option, not the default. Avèro starts with an honest assessment of the system you already own. If the core is stable, the better path is usually to clean up the data, redesign the processes, and add purpose-built tools and AI around it, which avoids a multimillion-dollar trip to market. If the system genuinely cannot carry the agency forward, we say so and run the selection. The assessment fee is the same either way.
How much does a government ERP project cost?
A full ERP replacement for a mid-size public agency typically runs several million dollars and three to five years, counting license, implementation, backfill staffing, and change orders. Avèro's advisory engagements are far smaller: readiness and selection work generally runs $150K to $1.5M depending on scope, contract review runs $10K to $35K, and modernization of an existing platform is usually a fraction of replacement cost.
