Dispatch · The work

The vendors have their logos. We have references.

Every major ERP vendor can hand you a customer list. What they can't hand you is an independent advisor who represented a buyer through the selection, the contract, and the implementation, and who will take your call today to tell you what actually happened.

A note on references

A logo on a slide is not a reference. A reference is a phone call you can make, with a decision-maker who will tell you what actually happened, what went wrong, and what they would do differently.

Every flagship below is reachable. Avèro can connect prospects directly to the CIO, city manager, or CFO who hired the firm. Unlike vendor-supplied references who were pre-vetted to say the right things, these are just the people we worked with.

Some engagements went smoothly. Some were harder. All of them will take your call.

We don't ship a logo deck. We ship a phone tree.

Flagship engagements

Six stories. Every one a reference.

A named client, a number, and what actually happened. The rest of the work is in the ledger below. The stronger story is the one you’ll hear when we put you on the phone with the buyer.

Port of Portland

An airport, four marine terminals, one back-office stack.

JD Edwards and Avantis EAM, bolted together over two decades. Avèro sits on the Port’s side of the table through selection, negotiation, and implementation — not across from it.

17 proposals evaluated · one vendor selected
Los Angeles World Airports

Nobody in the room worked only for the airport.

Fourteen months into Oracle Fusion Cloud, LAWA was being asked to approve more time and more money. Avèro ran an independent health check, then stayed as Owner’s Representative PMO.

Five stages to a validated go-live
GoTriangle

Before you replace it, find out what it can still do.

The instinct was to write an RFP. Avèro answered the replace-or-optimize question first: a needs assessment, a requirements matrix, and a costed roadmap for both futures.

Union County, North Carolina

A fast-growing county, and an IT department built for a smaller one.

Among North Carolina’s ten fastest-growing counties since 2010. Avèro assessed the IT function, restructured it, and stayed to implement the plan — including remote-work protocols when the pandemic arrived.

Assessment through implementation
City of Knoxville

Permits shouldn’t hide in the machinery.

Four divisions, each with its own forms and handoffs. Avèro found the friction, reconfigured Accela, and reset how applications move from submission to approval.

Tarrant County, Texas

Know what you need before you ask the market.

Before going to market for a new ERP, Tarrant asked Avèro to document how the County actually operates across Budget, HR, Payroll, Purchasing, and the Auditor’s Office — then turn that into a procurement-ready RFP.

The rest of the ledger.

Named engagements with a published story. Every one of them is a reference you can call.

In their words
Many companies are technically strong in all things IT, but not every firm can build the relationships necessary to help an organization navigate change. Avèro excelled in this aspect. Technically strong, depth of knowledge, and an ability to speak in a language management can understand. They don't use only industry terms. They took us through discovery to make sure we got the scope right.
Greg McClain  ·  City Manager  ·  City of Maryville, Tennessee
We are in year two of a five-year project. Avèro performed at the highest level of satisfaction from the department directors and myself. Avèro is collaborative, engaged, and able to break the status quo of typical governance. Charlottesville's Avèro team broke down decades of silos.
Paul Oberdorfer Deputy City Manager of Operations · City of Charlottesville, Virginia
Avèro Advisors has been a Godsend for us here in Blount County as far as our technology, bringing us up and getting us to the next century. You all have been a tremendous asset for me to be able to lean on. If you need help in your counties, Avèro Advisors are family.
Tom Hatcher Blount County, Tennessee
Avèro Advisors has brought IT advancements to Blount County Government that were 30 years overdue. This modernization could have been a lot more painful had it not been for the ability of Avèro to build strong relationships that have endured through the entire process.
Ed Mitchell Blount County Government, Tennessee
The ERP implementation process is always difficult, but having Avèro handling the project management freed up City staff to focus on implementation tasks. We have really appreciated our project management team and will miss them when our project is complete.
Kate Zawadzki Chief Financial Officer · City of Dixon, California
Avèro is a knowledgeable, agile, and energetic partner who blends experience with teamwork to help develop solutions. They gave the county a very clear understanding of our strengths and weaknesses through an IT Strategic Plan.
Nicholas Morris Project Director · Pittsylvania County, Virginia
Avèro is an excellent resource in the IT governance space. They are clear communicators, honest, and have a wide range of technical expertise. The Avèro team is excellent to work with and go the extra mile to provide quality work to their clients.
Christopher Liersaph Deputy CIO · Union County, North Carolina
By using ordinary English and humor, the Avèro team can speak to different levels including our front-line employees, our managers, our IT staff, and our executives, because they understand that most people do not speak IT.
Terry McKee Procurement Director · Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation
No one on staff had the experience procuring an EDMS solution. Avèro had the industry knowledge we were looking for, and they had worked with public housing authorities before. Working with Avèro gives our agency the confidence that we will make the best overall decision.
Samantha Arellano Information Technology Director · Reno Housing Authority
